Flanel is realy fine and steadfast material. It is usefull for finish level in polishing metals, lack and plastics. It is similar like a softened cotton, but wires of flanel is 2-3x wider what is at the good buff coarse. If you need to take high press while you´re polishing, we recomend ad more stitches.
